Haven't ridden there for a while, anyone know what the latest is on access? Heard a few stories about grumpy owners threatening things but haven't heard if this has come to much.

I'll ask lookmanhonads to post on here mate... He lives at the bottom of Cranham, and rides there several times a week...

I like the new name better, crainium woods! I've been up there a fair amount recently and can't say I've seen anything out of the ordinary. If anything there does seem to be less people around in the woods. Ride and be merry.

I Haven't seen the new landowners since I had the (mis)fortune to bump into them in spring.
Hopefully they've become bored.

Just been up to Cranham this morning for a session. I was stopped by the new owner at the entrance to the saw mill and he informed me that he has bought all the land between the two roads.. think this has a section known as the shrine. he told me that because there are no bridle way signs he is going to stop people riding there..But he said I was fine to carry on today as i was there..Also been down the section what i know as the race track and there a many trees that have been cut down an left lying on the trail and over a well spread out area.

That is a very odd way of behaving, i am going to stop mtbers, but not today!!!!

I don't see how you can block access though, well i can but not in a legal and effective manner.

think we'll have to go down at midnight and build transitions before and after the trees that are down ๐Ÿ™‚

Could make it even more fun ๐Ÿ˜†

I was up there last night, lots of sizeable trees and a lot of debris all over the racetrack and around the bombholes beyond.

We dug a bit of a new line around the first tree, but the later obstacles were far too big... crossed the road and rode around the shrine - no obstacles over there, and nothing indicating we weren't allowed to be there.

Forestry commission are up there on the racetrack side doing some house keeping.

Just because there is no bridleway signs does not mean there are not any there.

Keep riding and just be aware that there are still instances of roof tacks and obstacles being placed on and across the trail on the Shrine side.

But please don't ride the trails if they are really wet.
