Anyone out riding at the Quarries today? Was across the valley over on Brown Wardle and could see a HUGE grass fire from 2 miles away, we could even make out the flames which tells us it must have been roaring in the wind today. Massive plume of smoke over the hills as well.

Must admit, i had the urge to ride through the flames with 'Ride of the Valkyries' playing the mp3 ๐Ÿ˜†

A third moorland fire which spread to cover two square miles was reported on Sunday afternoon at Moor Wind Farm in Stacksteads near Bacup.

From BBC news this morning.

Anyone know what the state of play is at Lee and Cragg Qs?

Thanks, Paul.

It'll be fine. I tried riding up the other side of the moor on sunday, and had to turn back because the smoke was horrible. The strong wind blowing it down your throat didn't help either.

I went through Cragg yesterday and it was full of the usual suspects bimbling around.
