I have an Intense 5.5 EVP and an Intense Spider XVP both of which have cracked around the bottom bracket area and I was wondering whether there is some resale value in them or is it a trip to the recycling centre?

Hide the crack and sell them on the classifieds. Make sure to sell to someone far away and ask for Paypal gift only.

If you are honest and photograph the crack I don't see why not. Someone may be able to reapir it and get themselves a bargain.

Apparently intense might do repairs: http://www.pinkbike.com/news/To-the-Point-Heat-Treating-Aluminum-Frames.html

Fine to sell it as cracked, be completely honest with as many photos as possible. There is value in the rear shocks if you still have them and the rear triangles are presumably fine which someone may need.

You can still sell them as people might need other parts of the frame for parts or whatever. Plenty of pics and a detailed description and it should be fine 🙂

Intense will repair the frames for £300 each, but I don't want to outlay and then risk losing money on them.

I will get them photographed up and put them up for sale. I was thinking £50 each?

Bugger too slow. I would be interested in the 5.5 if podge changes his mind. I would have had it welded fwiw.

for 300+purchase price of 50 to have a rewelded and heat treated by intense frame, that is a bit of a bargain. I would.
Defo a massive benefit from doing the post weld heat treatment though.
