For £100 or so more, you could get a Cotic BFe or even a Genesis Latitude. I know what I'd have gone for.

£500 seems alot for a steel hardtail, guess you are paying for the brand name. I dont think Id have one, a Cotic or a Genesis are great bikes for less cash. But for £200 I guess it was worth a punt, you could sell it on easy enough without losing out.
