Why smiles? I think that would annoy me to the point of distraction/not wanting to ride my bike. It could only be worse if you got your yours the wrong way around

I would totally buy a hologrammatic/prismatic top cap. Well, as long as it wasn't £17 - that's retarded.

I've my ICE contact details on the top caps of all my bikes. I think that they were about £5ish to get done.
Only thing I'll have now + they are transferable to new bikes.
