My Surly 1x1? The axle to crown of my 1x1 rigids is 453mm, of my Reba 100mm 473mm. So if I was to swap for a set of Karate monkey forks (468mm A to C) and a big wheel what would be the likely down sides or issue? I guess slacker angles and maybe a slight issue on ups, but surely not to much more than with the Rebas? Ok and yeah the other downside would be that it would look daft...

you dont need to swap out your forks, a 29" wheel will fir in your 1x1 fork with room to spare, so youll only raise the front by about 30mm due to increase in wheel size.

Or ideally you'd go for a bit shorter fork with a greater amount of offset to help keep the steering sharp.

I did a similar thing with my 456SS a while ago. 26" On-One fork with the regular 29er wheel. Fun but confused the Irish no end ๐Ÿ˜€
