26" Rocket is dead, 26" is most definitely not dead.
11 years ago, there were bikes which 'worked' Are they still good now? I personally would hate to be riding the bikes I was riding 11 years ago - big wide bars, ace suspension, slack head angles, tubeless, dropper posts etc - all things I couldn't live without now
True, but how much of that isn't retrofitable to an old bike? The head angle? And how much of that has happened since the Rocket was last sold? The CCDB has been arround 9 years, I had 720mm bars when I was at uni 10 years ago, ditto tubeless, even gravity droppers made an apperance while I was still at uni (2008?).
My point was I'm sure Cy will be sat someonewhere beevering away at the new Rocket, and if something really has been game changing in the last 12 months I'm sure he'll test it an refine it.
The implication that a bike will get left behind and can't be refined though is laughable, as I said, the big brands have been refining the same designs for 10+ years now, each one is slightly better (or worse, remember DH bikes going to 150mm axles, then back to 135mm because it was better?) than the last.
Correct me if I'm wrong but is the BFe now the only 26" bike Cotic make?Soul is still 26" and tiny bit bigger size.
id love to know the ratio of 26 vs 27.5 of the bfe and soul they sell now
