To any hemlock owners out there, how much seatpost do you have sticking out?for your frame size/height,need to know if my gravity dropper post will be long enough, how stiff are they? finally do they have that squat/lag that when putting down the power that other horst link frames have.
cheers Andy

i've got a new small hemlock. Run a 400mm post about 2cm above min insert.

Very nice bike. Squat - a little i guess but nothing i notice and i run the damping light.

Pretty stiff too and as i understand the next batch have got a new chainstay thats even beefier

I ride a small and i'm around 5'7.5". I have a 400mm post and have 18cm of post inside the seattube. I drop it a further 2cm for anything rougher than fireroad.

On the subject of stiffness (ooh err missus) i think its a BS bike mag rumour, mines an older model (Pearl shock) 100mm travel with Talas 36 up front.

As for squat, i run mine with no floodgate at all and don't notice any excessive bounce.

Question for you and other Hemlock owners, what are intending to use the bike for?
I ask this because i bought it as a bike i could use for anything except DH. I have done everything from Lakeland all dayers to Stainburns Boulder Trail and a lot of playing in between, including one or two big drops and i love it.

I ask this because i think it works really well with the long forks/slack head angle/low BB. Very confidence inspiring. But bear in mind that with the forks down to 130mm it is too low for techy stuff IMHO.

There's not much it won't climb even in 160 but having the ability to drop it down makes long steep stuff a doddle.

What length forks does everyone else run?

I have the 6" rocker as well but i don't think i'll ever bother to try it..

i use 130mm menjas. V stable great for singletrack but do get a few pedal strikes so i reckon 140 ish would be best.

Use mine for everything but xc races

I've got the mk1 Hemlock, seatpost 400mm, about 200mm sticking out.
I run with 150mm at the back and 160mm Wotans up front. Flick the pro pedal and no probs with any squat. I use it for most stuff, it climbs really well even at 160. Very stiff, best bike I've had. Oh it'll get down anything

i've got a 2009 large, with a 400 (420?)mm gravity dropper, i've got a 36" inside leg, and it's big enough. it's a bit shorter in the top-tube than my old speccy, this is a good thing for me.

Forget EVERYTHING you've heard about hemlocks being flexy.

With the short rocker, i find it's a very solid pedalling platform even without any propedal.
With the long rocker it's much more sensitive, and does sag a bit more if you mash the pedals when standing up. For sit-down-spinning it's very neutral. i run it with 2 on the propedal and switch it on for long climbs.

i'm currently running it with 150mm forks.

Best handling bike i've ever ridden. it's not very 'race' but it's heaps of fun. Baa's last comment is spot-on.

i'm keen to see the new ones...

Is the hemlock a horst link? I rode one the other day for all of 5mins as a mate just got one. Really responsive turning in and a nice ride. His is built fairly heavy duty. I must admit it did feel like it took a bit to get it going, but that could have been the chunky tyres and fork/shock setup (not at all setup for me). Once there it just ate the trail.

I've just started using a gravity dropper on my "old style" Hemlock, and I ride a small (I'm 5'7"). I've got more than enough seatpost to run the 3" drop, and if I want the saddle really low for the day, I can probably drop it another 2" before the collar touches the seatclamp.
