Has anyone done a cotic escapade as a flat bar 29'er?
I commute,"adventure CX" and pootle on an 2011 kona jake snake that has drop bars and I changed the cantis to mini V.
I don't feel the drops do me any good and I hate the rim brakes.
Fancy some thing more MTB commuter that can have a quick blast round the local woods but still take mudguards for commute.
The roadrat is the same frame with a longer top tube more suited to flat bars.
Note that the track dropouts will make wheel removal a pain with mudguards/rear derrailleur. I have the old Escapade and without a 10mm rear axle I would have probably gone mad.
So, how well does it rise as a mountain bikers Road bike?
How does the 10mm rear axle help? Just about to buy new wheels for my escapade
Means you can get the rear wheel out easier if you have guards on the bike
Who does hubs with a 10mm axle then? Anyone got a link?
Mine is running a Hope hub
I'm told that the DT Swiss R24 range can also convert which is what I'm currently looking at as the Hope is far too loud for road use, feels like I'm being followed by traffic even when on quiet country roads

Pedal.

Have a question about a Kona Jake the Snake that you had a thread up about a brave while ago.
