hi all..needing opinions/advice..currently running genesis io with cromoly straight bladed fork(420mm a-c)tad harsh..keen to stay away from suspension(no maintenance)..keen to buy carbon fork(probably carbon cycles one) according to genesis website i can run 425mm axle to crown or 445mm a-c..

1.will carbon be tad more compliant..?
2.will 445mm feel bit choppered..?

all advice/info appreciated..

thanks.. ๐Ÿ™‚

1. Only really if you believe that it is ๐Ÿ™‚ there's no real significant difference ( assuming xc fork rather than a jump style one ) no matter what people might try to convince themselves.

2. Longer for will feel a touch slower. 20mm you'll get used to quickly enough but it really depends how you like your bike to handle as to whether it's an issue or not. Another bike I had was nice enough with a 445 fork but for me spot on at 420

20mm extra is *roughly* 1 degree slacker.
