[#6662802]

Has the STW hive mind considered the Copenhagen Wheel yet?

Looks to me like it's very late to the party, brings none of the advantages of a proper E-bike, and is going to be very very expensive, as it contains pointless stuff like logging data to your smart phone etc?

Nice marketing. But a bit light on detail.

How many pounds? How much power, How much battery life. etc etc

Has been doing the rounds since 2009. Makes you wonder if the venture capitalists are getting itchy, hence the recent PR ramp-up.

$800
6kg
15mph top speed for the Euro model
proprietary spokes

So it's slower, more expensive, heavier, and more polluting than what I've got already.

Might make sense I suppose for the physically impaired who have difficulty cycling otherwise.

I don't really like the idea of putting drive torque into std drop outs not designed to react that torque either. At least a proper Ebike has been designed as an Ebike from the off.

Also, being self contained it's going to be a massive theft risk, especially if it is expensive!
