Currently have a 90mm stem on my Roadrat, with a 25.4mm flat bar on it. Planning to change to drops, probably the on-one Mary - will I need a longer stem?

Have the 130mm that came on the roadrat somewhere - but it's a 31.8 clamp, so the Mary bars will need to be bought to suit one stem or the other - any advice?

You'll need a shorter stem if running drops.

Mary is a sweep bar not a drop bar though? I run inverted Marys on my medium long 'rat and went from the long one to a 90mm.

I think you are getting confused with Midge bars

What if said, and if they are Marys, no need for new stem generally.

Cool. I've not used drops since I was a teenager on a road bike, so the Marys are a toe in the water. They're cheap, at least - I might end up with a different set in time.

Midge, I meant, not Mary. Sorry, new ground for me.

top blue dot is handlebar for mid rise eastons on 0deg 90mm stem, on my 21" scandal
lower blue dot is midges on the same stem
yellow dot is midges on 35 deg 90mm rise stem
this was all mucking about with that monstercross I mentioned on my post.
