Can i convert my 140mm float to a vanilla by changing the spring pushrod, adding a spring and preload cap?

I swapped the internals on my old vanillas to the stanchions / sliders from an old pair of floats. as long as the things you put into the floats are the same as would go into vanillas, it will work fine
