Thinking of going for a set X kings does the 2.2 come up as a normal 2.2 or do I need to go for next size up to get equivalent size with most other tyre manufacturers I've had experience before of other types of Conti tyres being smaller than you would expect
2.2 comes up as a 2" . A 2.4 is prob 2.3ish, but I've not got an inflated one to hand to check.
I got a 2.4 on a crest you I can take a picture for you
2.2 comes up as a 2.05 on my ztr olympics
2.4 on Crest is 2.33" across the casing, bit more across the knob, obvs.
And equally obvs, wider on wider rims.
They're definitely on the thinner side. I had to check the sidewalls when I put them next to my 2.2 RQ's!
I've been running 2.2 both ends fine, they roll nicely but I've got a 2.2 and 2.4 mountain king to try on the front. The 2.4 protection X-King is actually heavier than the 2.4 mountain king so I reckon the MK might make a better front tyre.
Just taken a quick pic to show - comes up as 2" knobble to knobble at 25psi.
On Kinesis maxlight wheels so they will be a bit thinner on crest/arch and a bit wider on flows I think? 29" flavour.
Forgot to say they will be going on a Crest rim got 2.1 Nevegal's on at the moment
Nick are you going mountain king 2.2 on the back as well ax the 2.4 on the front would recommend the x kings
I'm currently sticking with the X-King back it's actually clearing goop a lot better than I thought it would.
Better all round rear tyre than the MK i think.
I'd recommend them they seal dead easily tubeless and are very grippy given how well they roll. I'd take a look at some of the light maxxis options (sidewalls too thin for me) or those Geax tyres everyone likes too?
Thanks Nick quit like running a bigger tyre at the front my front nevegal is 2.35 seen a deal on ribble cycles x king 2.4 folding £16.95 and I can get the 2.2 for £23

Do the side knobbles still fall off like they did on the first (and last) one I used?
That doesn't sound good had vertical pros many years ago they were fine
