How many Shimano connector pin's can/should you use in a chain.. ?

There's no limit to the number you can/should use but the correct answer is none, you should use a powerlink 😉

SRam & Shimano is that compatible.. I already used a conneX link it's a bit of a mess 😕

Yep, for 9speed get the gold ones. Being using them for years on Shimano chains with no problems.

I had a bike in for servicing that was running fine with 9 powerlinks!

in theory could you not construct a whole chain of powerlinks? if its strong enough in one place surely its good enough for the whole thing....
