I think I've borked my front brake! I was changing the pads on my Tektro Auriga Comps and I the lever kinda, sorta got pulled, (only just discovered this is a bad idea but it kinda makes sense in retrospect.) As you can probably guess the pistons are now too close together, I can get the pads in but they're tight against each other. I've tried easing the pistons back with a flat chisel but they only go so far.
Obviously I'm a tw*t and need help, if anyone's willing to oblige I'd be very grateful.
Big flat object should should do it, hope do a big flat spanner thing for it. do it with the pads out. but dont damage the pistons.
If you can get a flat-bladed screwdriver in the gap then GENTLY twist the screwdriver so that the pistons ease apart. Once you've done that get an 8/10mm ring spanner & using the ring end push the pistons back into the main body of the brakes. It will happen, just take your time and do it slowly.
As a tip, when you're next at your LBS buying something ask them if they have any of those little plastic spacers disc brakes come with to hold the pistons apart. I use them when shifting the bike in the car with the wheels off.
Worth wrapping the screwdriver in insulating tape,to cushion it against the pistons.

Had to improvise with the tools a bit but I've got it done. It's rubbing very slightly but a bit of tweaking should sort that.
Cheers guys. ๐
