thinking of a wee trip here on sunday...whats it like as ive not been before? is it fairly longish?
fairly short - but new trails since I was there and variations on multiple loops more than possible. I liked it
Its a good wee trail. I did the XC race there a couple of years ago and it was quite techy in places
Bobby @ work
It's a great wee afternoon out
Red/ black has a few nice drops / climbs
The jump-pump-skill track just opened this week too
Nice old school biking on the trails , I like the place and the guy who runs it/ staff are all
Very welcoming
Try it out !!
cool looking forward to it....its a hangover ride so dont want anything too nuts...but the pic on there facebook page looks ace! pump track tastic!
I've been twice loved it first time, made me want to give it all up and take up golf the second time!
Steep, short, old skool and great fun.
Do not expect sanitised FC style trails with runouts and designed with health and safety in mind.
Do expect steep drops with 'penalty for failures', the 'impossible climb' and a hoot on the pump track.
Also expect a warm welcome from Colin and the chaps there.
There is also miles and miles of ace local riding on hills and singletrack.
i liked it...very short but fun, killer steep climb but the rest was a hoot.did it twice and the black section is maybe 15 feet long that made me laugh...its so short the first time i did it i missed it...
good cafe as well,a proper hangover sorter
Ace !
I love it... It's pretty tricky in places for a red xc route, especially in the wet, but it's short enough to knock out laps and long enough to get properly in the groove, and it's pretty non-stop, none of that feeling of empty trail you sometimes get at trail centres. Fab.
The new pump track had a sign up saying it was still closed, btw, but that might have been out of date.
When was that? We're heading up there for the weekend and I thougth there was a post on Facebook saying it was open.
3 weeks ago I think- it was pretty faded, said more or less "Don't ride on the track, it's not finished and you'll wreck it"
All open now and looks good. Can't wait to get up there for a ride.
