Does anybody wear long compression socks? Do they work?

Saw the doc yesterday and he suggested I should, as my veins are getting dodgy (varicose) which explains tight calves and poor circulation. Just ordered some running ones to give them a go.

I wore a pair for 5 days when riding unsupported in the Arctic - but mainly because you’re on your feet a lot, pushing for 8 hours a day and on the go for 16 hours per day. They’re popular with the triathlon crowd, but some studies suggest they don’t deliver any performance benefit, although can help with recovery.
