Im currently eyeing up the Vacmaster Cardio54

Is there anything to match that without going much beyond that on price?

It needs to be small enough that it can be put away when not in use. Powerful enough for use in Summer (I am on the Scottish east coast, so its its rarely that warm tbf)

It's a great Zwifting fan - I've had one for a year or so. Shifts loads of air and remote control is very useful. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Yeah I've got the non remote one and it's fantastic.

Crikey ££££! Is there not something available without the remote for cheaper and just go for a remote socket?

Yep, the non remote one 🤣

Currently 50 quid Vacmaster I just set it to the required speed depending on how hard I'm going to be going at the start and leave it at that.

The problem I have with that is sometimes where I turbo is absolutely freezing, so having the fan belting out that air before you're properly warmed up is horrific. OTOH, £50 increase to get the remote version keeps me using my crappy fan that I can reach across and adjust as necessary

cheaper solution would be non-remote version plugged in with a smart plug. You can't control the intensity, but can control on/off with Siri/Alexa/whatever.

Which is exactly what I'm going to do! Does anyone have more than one of these fans? One to blast/dry off the back, maybe?! I get seriously sweaty on the turbo!

As an aside, got a couple of the Meaco "air circulator" things recently, best fan I've used (really quiet too), the idea is they swivel around and bounce air off the walls etc thus promoting air-flow throughout the whole room. Might stick one in the garage while Zwifting too...

DrP has about 8 of the things, I believe. 😁

I get proper sweaty too, but 1 fan is fine at the moment. Might upgrade to a dual set up at some point. I zwift inside so I just set the fan then wear a hoody for the first few mins until I'm warmed up.

Yeh, im really hankering for a remotely controlled power level. Its not really a necessity (I even have a remote control plug) but this is very much in the **** it, just buy the thing that does what you want, not the thing that does what you need camp.

It needs* to be compact, shelf mounted, with adjustable power.

*wants

And if you think the Vacmaster is expensive, take a look at the Wahoo Headwind.

Myself and several guys I zwift with have this fan

https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Products/HE1681.html?source=adwords&ad_position=&ad_id=&placement=&kw=&network=x&matchtype=&ad_type=pla&product_id=HE1681&product_partition_id=&campaign=shopping_8_Percent&version=finalurl_v3&gclid=Cj0KCQjw5ZSWBhCVARIsALERCvwPMoSGOBI59dp9jjNde45DrbrAZ2FWMYjJIDd6YzpS1Nv9gp-pX-UaAsjaEALw_wcB

got a little remote that means you can move around the 3-speeds with ease - seems to be a decent output as I have never been too hot yet, and it can be angled to get direction just right

Just get it, I don't think there's anything better. I actually run two of them, one either side, bit of overkill but ended up with two of them and they work a treat as they both work off the same remote. I previously had the non remote model on an Alexa plug but far better to be able to control the 3 speeds.

I’ve got the vacmaster cardio54 too - think it’s great. Chucks out a decent amount of air and I often start with it off and up the power as I get hotter. Often too cold in the garage to have it running full tilt until I’ve started to build some heat / sweat up

Not quite 8 fans… but 2 vac master from the front….and an 18 inch regular fan blowing from behind.
Still get too hot!

I have three Vacmaster fans. Two non-remote plugged into a smart socket which point at my front, and a remote version pointed at my back.

I use the remote version to start off with until I'm fully warmed up and then ask Google to turn the other two on. I tend to use the remote version to alter temperature and just have the two front facing on setting 1.

Well, this has been a successful purchase.

It really is a great bit if kit, and the remote control for power settings is excellent.

Ive been happily ripped off just to get the remote and would do so again

I'm fortunate with my turbo situated beside a patio door. An 18" fan 9n a smart plug is all I need.

Just a heads-up for those looking to buy.. I have a price-watch set up on Keepa and it has just alerted me that it will be on a flash sale on Amazon tomorrow (from 5am). No indication of price but previous low this year was ~£80.

@piemonster - thanks for the offer but I'm currently fine with blowing outside air at me. I'm not sure there would be any benefit in having another somewhere other than at the door.

Whilst we're here, I'm looking for a decent sized fan that can be wall or shelf-mounted, with screws etc. Because I want one below the zwift table and one above blowing on my head. Anyone do this?

@molgrips I was thinking much the same as regards piemonsters offer. There are a few on Amazon (some with remote) but a few recommendations wouldn't go amiss.
