I've always had these
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_745541_langId_-1_categoryId_242553
for some reason the one with the relective white strip is cheaper than the one without at the mo. If they are more in the shop just point out it's cheaper online and they'll match it.

I used to use these wtb and they were ideal.

specialized nimbus armadillos work for me. I've worn out two pairs (over a good few years) and the only puncture I've had was a broken bottle that went in one side and out the other.

They are practically puncture proof and very grippy as well.

Schwalbe big apples are lovely and plush. Pretty fast and you can use use your normal mtb tubes.

Continental city contact reflex. Or whatever contact variety is available.

Used to use the Speccy Nimbus, and I think they last longer and have better puncture protection, but the reflex strip is a reAlly good safety feature

you could consider bontragers g1. Its a large volume, fast rolling, comfy, durable tyre for 21quid. Whats not to like.

Yep, ran a pair for 2 years without a single puncture.

Great tyres & last I checked two could be had for £23. 🙂

Land cruisers look good 🙂 .... Looking for a tyre myself that will handle road, cycle tracks and a bit of off road over the Cambrian mountains as well .... Im riding from Aberystwyth to Birmingham over Xmas 🙂
Thanks for the info and sorry for the slight hijack 🙂

Land Cruisers will handle all that. Son2 had them on his 24" bike and never punctured despite riding Swinley, tow paths and the school run for a few years. Nephew 1 still hasn't punctured them, either!
