[Closed] CommuterTrackWorld: Stretchy Mesh Hi Vis Vest - does it exist?

I have a mental image of the perfect (for me) hi vis vest.

It's made from wide guage (spaced) stretchy mesh fabric, this would mean it could be worn tight over lycra, not impede airflow, be super small when packed and (most importantly) not flap about like an old bin bag when riding.

No velcro fastenings or straps, just an all in one like the string vest your granddad used to wear.

Does something like this exist or have I stumbled on a hole in the market?

I used to wear exactly what you just described out raving in the mid 90's!

Why not just use a high-viz lycra top?

Not exactly what you describe but I've got the Mavic Vision vest and whilst it's not cheap I think it's a good investment if you're regularly riding on the roads in traffic.

It fits like a regular roadie gilet so doesn't flap about, the front is a windproof fabric and the back a stretchy mesh. It's also way brighter in real life than it looks in pictures and has plenty of reflective taping on it so you definately stand out.

I'm not sure if they're still available as chain reaction shows them as discontinued but maybe worth a look if you can find one.

yes, ravey style exactly!

Why not just use a high-viz lycra top?
not a hi vis lycra top as i already have an extensive wardrobe of commute lycra (tons of the bloody stuff) - i need something to go over what i have

Precision Running Vests
those precision ones are ok, but not what i have in my (ravetastic) mind's eye, my wife wears one for running and it's not "quite" right

Just get a gilet? Most are showerproof fronts and mesh backs. Something like the altura night vision is insanely visible.
