change of work location for 4 days a week means I will have to drive for part of way and probably ride the last 4-5 miles in, I'll have lots of stuff to carry so I'm after recommendations for trousers that are good for the bike and office, I can get away with shirts and jumper, or shirt and gilet no tie so not a super smart suit type office

4-5 miles? I just wear jeans mostly from Uniqlo. The stretch selvedge is comfy and pretty hard wearing.
I do have some Mission Workshop trousers and herself bought me some Velocity trousers which work pretty well.
