So my Chillitech 1080p camera has died after 4 years of use, so i need to replace it
Is the newer 4k version much better?
Ideally i need it to last upto 4 hours on a long ride (like the original) but also record clearly at night when commuting (the original Chillicam failed miserably at recording number plates at night) also the quality seemed to get worse as it got older
If not the Chillitech then what other bullet cam fits the bill? needs to be bullet style as i have bullet cam mounts for 4 bikes and a couple of helmets and they are just less bulky/more discreet
I did have a GoPro and the Ghost XL camera's before which were good but too bulky and in the case of the GoPro poor battery life when doing big rides, even when carrying spare batteries
I wouldn't buy another Chillitech. Mine never charged properly and Chillitech were not helpful. When plugged in the light just stays green and doesn't charge. Tried on multiple devices and only seems to charge on an old computer.
For everyday use I'd probably go for a go pro with a spare battery.
Cheers for the reply
That dosent sound good, i know Chillitech customer service is not the greatest from my past experince
The GoPro is not an option, i ran one for a year, far too bulky and the fact a battery only lasts 45mins to an hour means id have to carry a spare for each way on my commute and on longer rides id need to carry 3-4 spares and then keep stopping to change them!
The Ghost XL was near perfect for my needs, just a shame its quite bulky as its a motorbike camera so not the best to mount on a £250 roadbike helmet
So is there anything else out there that is the same size as the Chilli cam but better?
Also im guessing Chilli tech dont make the camera's themselves, so can they be bought elsewhere?
In case anyone is interested and for future searches it looks like ive found the Chilli Tech cameras on Amazon at much better prices, the camera are pretty much identical in apperance and spec
The standard Chilli Tech camera which they charge £70 for can be had for £16
The wireless Chilli tech camera that they charge £80 for can be had for £60
The 4k wireless Chilli tech camera with stablization that they charge £99 for can be had for £75
Obvoiusly if you buy from Chilli Tech you do get a few more mounting options like the velcro helmet mount
