I would think about what type of riding you will mostly be doing. More XC got for the XL, if you will be spending more time throwing it about then go for the large.

I'm 5ft 11" and I have a medium meta am

Hope this helps

Go L unless you're planning on using it more more pedally XC type riding*, it will give you more scope to move the bike under you. I'm 6-2 and this was the advice from Commie when I emailed them.

*I'm guessing you're not, wrong bike if you are, though they do climb well.

I had the use of a Meta AM for a while (same frame) & am somewhere between 6'1" & 6'2".

I rode a large, felt plenty big enough for me, as it's quite a long bike anyway.

I never tried an XL to be fair, the seat tube was as long as I would want it on the L for the type of riding I do.

I guess im really asking would the large be comfortable enough for me to do 3-4 mile on if i fancy a run out and can't be bothered to find somewhere with hills.
id love to have something i could do a handful of miles on without giving too much away on my way down, id say i probably ride no further than 5 mile on the flat but not regularly, its probably a 75% to 25% split with the bias on gravity stuff.

I'd go for the large if a few miles is all you'll be doing on a ride out. They are pretty roomy frames anyways

I'm pretty much 6' dead on, ride lots of jumpy stuff, so prefer a chuckable bike, and have a large Meta AM.

So from that, I'd say you probably want a XL, but the above guys would seem to disagree..

EDIT: From your last reply, if predominately for DH stuff, and you can get a decent length seatpost, I would go large.
