Looking for a new saddle for my Pinarello Cadore for use without bike pants/bibs so it needs to be a bit padded (like to lean forward and sit on the nose).
- Shiny silver rails (purely to match the rest of the bike)
- Sleek and not much more than 300g (lighter is funner even with steel, I'm getting light wheels and mostly 7700 dura ace components for it)
- Preferably Italian
Some that have been suggested: Fizik Vitesse (selle smth owns Fizik)..
How long is the commute?
I'm ok for an hour or so on even my most uncomfortable saddle without padded shorts.
That being said if I'm not wearing padded shorts it's because I'm in civis. That means I'm not actually working particularly hard because I get sweaty and horrible, which then defeats the object of dressing for the destination instead of the journey.
So the light and fun thing and "like to lean forward and sit on the nose" all seem a bit odd.
Your riding position is likely to change because you're not sprinting or chasing up hills. It won't be the same fun because you're ambling not racing (which can be enjoyable). The weight of the saddle is fairly irrelevant compared to the weight of the baggy trousers and dress shirt you're wearing, the laptop you're carrying and so on, especially given the difference between a sensible saddle and a heavy one is not an awful lot.
Equally if you're going to be racing into work with minimum load and showering on arrival, build light and wear padded shorts.
My use case is different, it's not for commuting to work but usually to tennis practise and occasionally for longer rides otherwise just to get around town.
Regardless my current wtb speed has black rails so it has gotta go :p
Lighter more responsibe bike (particularly wheels) is always more fun especially in stop n go traffic.
Black rails are normally silver underneath the black (unless carbon).

How far is tennis? Is the existing one uncomfortable? Just replace the existing saddle with the same but silver rails? For longer rides I imagine you'll be in shorts anyway, for shorter rides toughen up and or ride a bit slower.
My (or anyone else's for that matter) recommendation for a saddle isn't really any use to you because they're entirely a personal comfort thing.
Saving weight in wheels is one thing, saving it in a saddle that you want to be comfortable for plodding is a whole other thing. If you don't want to plod the sensible thing to fix is the lack of shorts not the saddle.
That being said I had a selle italia slr titanium which was lovely. Silver rails and 143g.
(vs 340 for a steel railed bel air which is about as heavy as you'll get this side of brooks. So about the weight difference of a tube of tennis balls)
Have the WTB speed, it's comfy enough and may just try to remove paint from and polish the rails (no silver rail version), 363g bit chonke.
IDK perhaps saddle tech has gotten to the point where you can get comfort from flexing materials and not just padding, and light weight + sleek looks at the same time?
At home I on my fancy bike I have a bontager aelous I ride w bibs, but its comfy enough for short rides without.

That sounds like the solution then 😉
