saw an MBR article on these inner hebrides. What are they actually like?
Worth a trip?
I think Tiree is failry flat, windy and has few trees but I haven't been there since I was three. My dad was born there but he's dead so I can't ask him what it's like and he didn't ride a bike anyway. For added useless information I also said my first word on the island which was 'sheepies'.
+1 for it being flat and windy. I've kitesurfed there a fair bit, and if memory serves me correctly there are three hills... literally. It also seems a bit bog like in the middle of the island.
Coll looks fairly flat as well (from the ferry).
Magical
Beaches to rival anything - anywhere
Did a lot of windsurfing there back in the day and mtb's are useful for zipping about but zero of note to keep you occupied for more than a day to be frank - the 3 hills have no traisl on them for example and everything else is no more than 20m above sa level. Good for the road bike tho both islands are small and you'd exhause that in a day as well
hmmmm - a rethink needed then.
Where up there to go for a decent ride and beaches? And camping?

Harris?
HARRIS!!!!
+1 for Harris
Mull also recommended.
Been to Coll. Beautiful (in a barren kind of way), with stunning beaches and seascapes, but flatter than a flat thing.
AS above. I also found them to be wetter than all other Hebridean Islands.
