Hi, I maybe meeting friends at Coed at the weekend, ladies and babies in the cafe and us chaps going for a quick spin.
Which of the trail/s of the would anybody recommend? Ideally the fastest most technical type ones.
Depends how much time you have. Could do a couple of shorter routes (Tarw/MBR) or go full on for a longer route like the Beast or Dragons Back. All are very good, but the last slabby section of the old Red Bull (now The Tarw) is probably the most technical.
Not tried the new additions to the MBR yet but it sounds good.
Don't forget Coed Y Brenin was the first ever trail centre - there may be more fire road than you would normally get at most newly built trail centres. That doesn't mean it's boring - just pretty old skool in places.
definately the beast 8)
Thanks, it would have to be a fairly quick spin 3 hours max as there is only so much cake the ladies can eat ๐
Is the Beast doable in about 3 hours for a relativly unfit person? He's good technically but has been affected slightly more than me by 'new father weight gain' ( Hope he doesn't read this ) ๐
No the Beast is not do-able in 3 hrs if you are with someone who is not that fit, although you can shorten it and miss out the 'out and back' section of fire road near the top (go directly from the end of Hermon to the start of Gomez).
Tried MBR last week, the new additions are awesome.... great trail, would have done a longer one if we weren't time limited, but would happily do MBR twice ๐
Do the MBR!!! Techy and not long.
Also do the very first section of Tarw (down Black Steps) to start and spin back past the VC to start MBR. Could also add on the Dreamtime section of DB (striaght across road after Pinderosa) then double back to join bottom of the aformentioned road to climb up and continue MBR.

Nice one cheers for the advice chaps. ๐
I'd start with MBR to see how your mate gets on. And the changes to the Falseteeth section are a great improvement.
If you then have time you could do the Tarw/Red Bull trail. It's longer but a lot quicker. Or a quick spin on the Temtiwr trail is often overlooked, as it's only 8k it can be perfect to squeze in after one of the others.
