Ok, so I know the place has had a lot of stick on here over the years (from me as well as others) but on a weekend like last weekend, I think it absolutely comes into it's element.

There's not many places other than trail centres where you can turn up with the forecast we had and the amount of rain there had been during the preceding days and still be guaranteed a good ride. There's something fantastic about riding singletrack at speed through a couple of inches of flowing water. The scenery was fantastic too with the waterfalls, mist rising from the valleys and occasional glimpse of sun ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes we got soaked but at no point was there anything unridable and no-one finished the ride without a grin on their face.

There has obviously been a awful lot of work gone into the new bits of downhill too and it's paid off - I love the jump/drop off options and there's even some exposed rocks n stuff. Still not particularly technical but great fun and enough to keep you thinking.

Rode there about a month ago and did the MBR. I had a right blast round it - great fun.

what does it get given stick for, out of interest?

i've been there twice, once about 10 years ago when it first opened and once three months ago, and loved it both times!

Rich - yeah, you should ๐Ÿ™‚

A lot of the nice technical rooty bits have been replaced by smooth "tarmac'd" trails over the past few years, apparently to creat more hard wearing trails to cope with the popularity of the place. It's great to see a bit more thought going into the more recent stuff with rock drops that can be rolled if necessary and corners that can be jumped etc.
