Hi guys,

Been pondering after posting my previous thread about needing a new dropout for an ageing Knolly Delirium. There really ought to be an advantage to living in Birmingham so there is surely someone in the West Midlands who could CNC a new dropout for me. Does anyone have anyone they’ve used before?

Betd in Newcastle might be able to machine one up for you.

Depending what part of Brum you're in its a bit of a hike to Newcastle under Lyme but BETD would certainly be a good starting place.

It's possible with their range they may already have something suitable already?

Ok, I will ping them to ask. They don’t have it already bc the sliding dropouts are a huge hunk of aluminium like this

Didn’t see your previous thread, but I assume you’ve already tried Knolly themselves?

I’d estimate getting that made from scratch by a machine shop (assuming you have an old one for them reverse engineer) is going to cost you upward of £150

Bullandbladder

Oddly just been in touch with a firm who were very roughly quoting that figure!

Looks like shipping in from The Empire of Canadia might be the best option after all.

Still, £100 for a “dropout” is an astonishing price!
