Why is a heavy person known as a Clysedale in cycling circles? Or have I misunderstood? And what is the weight that makes you one? 75kg ? 100kg ?

It is an American thing.
It is after the big horses.
Qualifying weight is 14 stone iirc!

Edit 200lbs or 220lbs depending on the event. Just looked it up!!

Oh it doesn't worry me at all, I'm out for a few hours twice a week and keep up with the rest. If we have the misfortune to have to go down fire roads instead of singletrack I just let gravity carry me to the front of the peleton ๐Ÿ™‚
