can anyone recommend a (the best) route and a local bike shop please?
Thanks.
^^^ as above for routes - some great riding in the area.
Perfect. Thanks.
any bike shops nearby?
Nearest is Bikes direct in Holywell, think they do GT but often have a good selection of bits n pieces. They are easy to find, located off the A55 Holywell turn off. The next is one planet at llandegla which is about 15 mins from Mold.
Routes...a couple around Cilcain, up around the bottom of Moel Famau. I would show you around but I have a busy few weeks in work so not out much. When you up???
Steve
Tuesday. Which is the best route to do from that (or other) selection?
Great thanks, hope to pop in for a quick ride at Llandegla on the way back if I can too ๐
Ah, sorry, working.....if you park in Cilcain, head up past "the fire place" hang a left, follow the road up, turn left. This will take you onto a bridle path. At the top you can either go left onto a bridle path called "tir gofal" which will take you to the bottom of moel famau, or you can go over and down towards Ruthin.
I would go with the first and do a cheeky run from the summit of Moel Famau, the descent to the car park is great, and when you get to the bottom there are loads of routes back to Cilcain. loggerheads is good for a brew and ice cream but watch out for the ranger if you ride the footpaths.
The leete is a footpath, but it's an excellent piece of trail...ahem!!!
If you go to llandegla have a crack at riding towards the masts. It will fill the day a bit more and if it's dry worth the detour. Ask in the shop about the route.
Enjoy...I wish I could get out ๐
perfect, thanks. That sounds like a plan, to extend Llandegla.
As far as bike shops are concerned you have Bikes Direct, the old Hillcrest garage in Holywell as has been suggested, RPM Cycles in Buckley, Grahame Weigh in Shotton or Shotton Cycles in, er, Shotton. There's a Cellar Cycles in Ruthin too
