With the return of winter and horrible wet commute clothes which I then have to climb into for the return journey home, I'm trying to persuade work to get a dryer for us cyclists.
I've seen dryers in ski chalets that are about the size of a big upright fridge freezer, loads of pull out racks that you can put clothes / gloves / shoes etc on. There's a timer, like a tumble dryer, so you switch it on for 60 mins or whatever, and a drip tray at the bottom. The one's I've seen ran at a very low heat, thus safe for cycle clothing, and presumably not very costly to run.
I cant find anything similar anywhere on the web, so does anyone know what I'm talking about, and where I can find one?
thanks
If you have a room for changing and something to hang clothes up on, see if you can track down an AirCon machine.
We have one in our wee bike room, turn it on for 2 hours on hot air and the stuff dries pretty quickly.
Shoes are the toughest to get dry so if its gonna be wet both ways I wear thick wool socks in and if the shoes get water in side i wear the sealskins home to avoid putting feet into wet shoes and getting water soaking in.
Yep, overall we're lucky, we have good facilities, so we have changing rooms and somewhere to hang stuff. there's actually 4 separate changing rooms, 2 x men and 2 x women, so we're looking at getting a drying room.
Do you need a vent in the room? I can imagine it would smell pretty bad if its not vented?
