My girlfriend wants to try spd's.

Any advice out there from the fairer sex? favourite pedals etc.

She will be using a trail type shoe, not a race type. thanks.

Are you talking pedals or shoes here? Cause if pedals, what's wrong with the normal shimano spd?

Well, they're not as good as Time pedals, but apart from that....

My advice is for Men & Women alike because I'm pretty sure SPD's are like all pedals unisex.

Buy Cheap find an e bay bargin on shimano spd's new your looking at £20. not everybody takes to spd pedals.

Be aware that most spd shoes are NOT WATERPROOF & overshoes are not that effective either use seal skin socks to keep your feet dry.

in the real world of riding trails I'm getting off & getting back on my bike to open Bridalway gates. (which sadist puts them on hills) i find hill starts 100 times easier with a flat pedal.

In fact i find I'm dryer & more comfortable with a lightweight walking shoe & a flat pedal, this combo has sorted me for many hundreds of miles.
