am new, i have a norco launch 03 with shimano mech discs, have been offered clim8 6 pots,203 discs, braided, levers, calipers brand new in box 95 quid. any info appreciated thanks. oh i use the bike for flying down my local downs and maybe going to alps holidays. thanks
I've not used them personally but I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole. For £100 you would pick up some tidy 2nd hand brakes, or spend a little more and get something like the Formula K18 from Merlin for £150.
thanks for the info, taken onboard schrickvr6.
Can you even get pads for them still? from what i recall the finish is awful and the braded hoses arn't up to goodridge/hope standard. Get some old style XT's if on a budget, much more reliable.
Edit: or some marura louise FR's they are up to the job and often cheap as chips second hand.
thanks for the reply shoefiti, u must have e.s.p. Just decided to get some old 4 pot xt,s instead. cheers
if you look on chain reaction cycles, you can get the 2 pot xts, for 50 quid i believe. ID go for them and use what ever rotors you have. The only brakes i prefer are the new style xt's
u must have e.s.p
Does canestan clear that up?
Good work on the old XT's - for my money one of the best brakes ever made!
thanks for reply lions.
