When you buy new shoes and pedals (both shimano) should you get cleats with the shoes or the pedals?
A mate who is a bit of a newbie bought both but doesnt have cleats and its been a while since I got a new pair of shoes.. I'm not sure who he should be chasing up!
Pedals from Halfords and shoes from Wiggle.

should come with pedals.

But some 'oem' or ebay sourced pedals might not have them (ebay sellers often seem to split them and sell them separate). But saying that even my bagged pedals from on one have come with them just like proper retail ones from halfords. Check the spec on the website.

if you think about it pedals will only go with one type of cleat, whereas shoes will go with all kinds of cleats, so they have to come with the pedals really.

As above, cleats usually come with pedals. I have found some of the store brand SPD cleats to work the same as Shimano ones, and usually cost less than 1/2 as much.
