[#7788467]

For various reasons over the winter i started riding flats for the first time, initially i really didn't like them which is not surprising considering the amount of time i had been riding clipless. But after a bit of time i got on with them more and more.

Anyhoo, fast forward and i am back on clips. My good old trusty mavic shoes ๐Ÿ™‚

What i am now noticing is that even with the cleats as far back as they can go i feel as if they are still too far forward. I got really used to having the axle naturally sit behind the ball of my foot with flats.

so i have a few options.

1. Stick with it and clipless will feel natural again soon.

2. Go back to flats.

3. Get the dremel out.

Has anyone else found this or am i overthinking the issue ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, I've drilled out my am45's.
For a few weeks it still feels as if I need to adjust my riding position going back to cleats but after that all is good again.

Fabien Barelle (cant spell) drilled out his shoes so he can move his cleats further back.

He's pretty good at riding, so try it and see.

Everyone is different, so experiment.

Alternatively some 5.10s have the cleat slots further back. Think Specialized 2fo may also do the same but to a lesser extent
