Some phrases crop up quite a bit on the classifieds - wondered what other people read into them.

Me...

Looking for £xxx = £xxx is a ridiculous amount to ask for this item and I know it - but I'm a bit embarrassed at my cheek so I've put "looking for" here.

Used but not abused = Tatty.

WTD: Expensive and desirable thing, must be cheap = Don't even bother replying, tightwad will waste your time.

Anyone else got any to share?

"Can't believe I'm doing this but decided to sell my..."

"This is the most awesome xxx I've ever owned but decided to sell my..."

"Buy it before I change my mind"

Yeah, yeah 🙄

Not so much what I read into them but straight contradictions.

"In mint condition" ...... to be followed later by "one small dent in the down tube etc"

"Brand new" .... to be followed by "only used a few times"

Etc..

"Paypal gift only"

I'm selling this item for £XXX.XX but I'm a tightwad and don't want to pay £X.XX in fee's, so you'll just have to hope that I'm genuine, and cross your fingers that everything turns up ok.

'gauging interest' - please buy it, i'm clearly not riding it....

'not been ridden for a year' - so i'm not factoring its age into the asking price

'Only used 3 or 4 times' - price as new.

possibly for sale = not actually for sale, just wasting everyone's time
