Hey,
Just got the above for my road bike. Got shimano Dura ace and looks like just fitting the cups then the crankset and pre-loading. Ah the question is it also came with a 24mm step down kit (included). What is it as never heard of it before. Your help would be appriciated.

cheers

Fitting is as per shimano, I think the stepdown kit is used with raceface cranks.

Headsup,
Spacing shouldn't be an issue as not running sram...Thought it's just a matter of fitting the cups and pre-loading the crankset....I've invested in the b/b fitting tool with a socket set as my mate damaged his cups on fitting with a shimano tool. Were you running sram?

@bikepimp - yes, you won't need the stepdown if you're using Shimano cranks.

@headsup - interesting, as I've just had to replace my King BB (MTB) AND get my BB shell re-faced because the bearings stuck to the axle, the driveside cup then came away with the driveside crank when I tapped (and I do mean, gently tapped) it out and stripped the BB thread... wasn't happy! The driveside cup metal was smeared flat, which I guess backs up your comment on soft metal.

My experience was much the same as Drain's. Bearings fell to pieces when I removed the cranks for the first time after 3 months to regrease them.

No warranty from Evolution whatsoever but when sent directly to King they repaired it foc. I did however get stung for import duty.

I no longer buy any King products, I use Acros now.
