So, are they any good? Tried hope there crap so looking for something that will last

What specifically did you not like about the Hope? I've found mine to be very robust and they generally receive favourable reports. If it was faulty in some way, it may be worth contacting Hope.

I've not used CK, although they are supposed to be excellent.

I have had a King BB in my bike since Febuary.
I have the grease tool and find that you need to grease them every few months.

Mine is still smooth as silk.

Biggest factor in deciding external BB life is how tight you clamp up the cranks (shimano type designs) - if you side load the BB bearings more than just enough to remove play, they tend to die very quickly. Seen it time and again....

Had a King on order in red but they "have been discontinued" according to Winstanleys.

Am considering the Hope as an alternative.
