[Closed] Choice between two wheel rims?

I know someone who is looking to buy a new set of wheels. They have decided on spokes and hubs (Stans ZTR 3.30) but cant decide between the Alpine or Podium rims.

They will be using the wheels for XC racing but also (mainly) general XC use. They will also use them in trail centres such as Glentress, Innerleithen XC and Kirroughtree but not in places such as Golspie or Laggan (or any DH stuff) as they have a heavier duty bike for that.

I have heard a few things against the podiums on lifespan, any feedback on this? I have a set of Alpines on Pro11 s and think they are excellent. Weight wise they are just over 9 1/2 stone.
