[#4596277]

Me and seven mates are riding in the Chiltern hill in march.

Any people with ideas where best to stay?

Wants to be near or in a pub!

Steve

Not sure about specific accomodation, but Wendover would make an excellent base. Some of the best riding on your doorstep, and Aston Hill close by.

Yeah not sure where exactly you are planning but I second jez's suggestion, wendover is a lovely town with a few nice pubs, wendover woods are a good ride and Aston hill is sick.

The Red lion in Wendover seems to be well regarded. Lots of places to eat in the village. Or if you want cheap and chain then the Crows Nest in Aston Clinton is near Aston Hill. What/where you planning to ride? Budget?

Was planning to go to Aston Hill for the first day then stay a bit further down and ride a loop from Stonor which we rode last year on are way back from Cannock Chase.

If we stay further up many do Stonor ride on sunday before going home.

Don't want to stay anywhere flash just some good food and a few beers.

Lots of nice but expensive places in Marlow which is further South. It is quite an expensive part of the world. This place in Stokenchurch is in about the right place. I have no personal knowledge of it. Do you need bike storage? http://www.hallbottomfarm.co.uk/flat.htm

The Crown in Radnage has some modern chalets at the rear of the pub or if price is more important than the warmth of reception & you don't mind living in the 1950's you could try the Swan in West Wycombe ๐Ÿ˜†

Red Lion Wendover, stayed there many times, but years ago.

You'd need to check for storage, but they are an Indy so may be able to accomodate. There are also places in Aylesbury, and you can canal it across to Ashridge and the loop around Tring/Wendover and back for a decent 40 miler.

Thanks everyone for your ideas.

As long as off road parking be ok as we will be in vans, so can park them against something or each other,
