Winched one of my mates off to the Royal Berks after a hard crash this morning, potential broken ribs and internal bleeding
Nothing but praise for them, outstanding. Plus the NHS paramedic Jason.
And the guy on the Whyte who stopped to help keep Rob calm while I was on the phone, don't know who you were but thank you.
Yup definately worth donating to keep these guys going!
Where did he crash?
yes,where were you?
[TJ mode]
why couldn't he just walk out, all that cost to the NHS!!

Yep, all the best to yuor mate, air ambulance guys (in fact all the NHS staff) do a great job. Pics?
Saw an ambulance (the road type) parked halfway across the road on a small lane near Woodcote today - it looked like they'd gone into the woods. Was that anything to do with it?
Best vibes to your mate.
thanks all for the support, we were here near Maidensgrove, just into the woods

with a convenient field for the heli to land in
rob now shot full of morphine and feeling much better ๐
Those Google maps are shite - how do you see the Grid Ref or OS Map ?
Mutley - I meant, how do i translate the Google map show in this thread into a Multimap OS map with a grid ref. I know Multimaps well and know the Chilterns well, so I was interested to see where the crash happend.
Google maps seem crap compared to Multimaps, especially for mtb use.
Make sure you donate them some money. I give a couple of quid a month, I think they do a great job. ๐
Trimix, try this. It'll give you OS grid coordinates in Google Maps

Rescued by mountain rescue and helicoptor in the lakes in May brilliant service. Everytime I see a collection tin for any similar service I slip in a few quid, it must be done!
When the accident happened.... were you on your way to or from the Five Horseshoes Pub?
I am thinking you were coming FROM the pub... otherwise you'd have been going uphill and sober. ๐
Great to hear some praise!
But
As an ex air amb paramedic who is now back on the road it always makes me chuckle at how much praise the heli boys get in comparrison to their road colleagues.
I know its not as glamorous but please don't overshadow the fantastic work all ambulance staff do...the roadies are bloody hammered these days and get bugger all positive feedback.
