Just wondered if anyone has managed to butcher some mount together to carry say, a Kodak Playsport video camera?

The playsport is loads cheaper than the goPro, but has obvious mounting difficulties compared to it. But I'm not that rich.

Anyone put anything together?

Gopro too much for me too!.
I have a veho muvi pro, £35 on ebay for an offical one. I also bought the waterproof casing. The casing comes with a strong clip that I attached to a loop on the shoulder strap of my camelback.
Footage here..

It lines up quite well and is almost chesty mount. Not the same wide angle lens so the footage does go out of shot sometimes.
It's a bit jerky too but I now have the class 6 card and recording at 30fps.

Hope that gives you an idea.

Don't think if you want a go pro you have to buy the £300 HD! The 960 is £160 and most people (like me) don't film in the full HD setting as it narrows the field of vision down to 127 degrees.

I wish I'd have bought the 960 as I use the 1080 in a 960 mode!

I was considering one of those veho muvi as an alternative to the GoPro. I got a shot of the GoPro HD for going on holiday and bought the chesty for it. I was very impressed with the results.
I'm glad you put the vid up Rockhopper70 as that has helped make my mind up...Has to be the GoPro. May be ten times the cost but worth it for the end result IMO.

well the gopro is certainly a leot better quality and you certainly pay for what you get in the camera market. I would have liked a gopro but my budget just didn't stretch. I'm no budding filmmaker and for a memento of my riding the veho does just fine.
(its looking a lot smoother with a class 6 card too)
