Are merlin doing the chosen hubs with Alex rims still? I've got a set on my HT and they aren't too heavy, fit the spec and not pricy

Code is on their twitter / facebook pages - MERRYXMAS. 25% off everything. I bought some wheels from them a few months ago and pretty happy with them.

They are - £154 delivered with the Christmas discount. Any idea of weight? A quick google reveals MBoy thought they were sub 1900g, but by how much?

I bought some a few weeks ago, fuel hubs but with mavic rims. Haven't put them on a bike yet, but in the spin in the hand test the rear hub seems pretty loud.

I've also been looking at the SS wheelset, either the sentinels or tactics on fuel hubs to use as a cheap/spare trail wheelset, however yet to hear of anyone's experience with them, thus not had the courage to make the purchase. Here's hoping someone can chime in with some experience of using them?... £150 with current savings does sound too good a deal to miss!

however yet to hear of anyone's experience with them,

If you google the Sentinel rims, there loads on this very site and most seems positive. I may as well go for it, although I was looking for something lighter but beggars can't be choosers.

Unless of course, someone know why the spokes keep falling out of my Maxlight IX9's, and the front hub spacer sheared this morning. I suppose I could by a front only and replace the spoke in my rear, although two different wheels triggers my OCD.

Jeez - the same (sentinel; on Fuel hub, Sapin Laser spokes) single front is £130. Might as well get the pair for 150!

I've got the tactic rims with some hub that I can't remember. They've taken all I can give on a hardtail and now built onto my remedy, been absolutely faultless and still running true as the day I bought them. Easily 2 years old now too. Really can't fault them one bit.

I ordered a set of crest 650b on switch ultra hubs for my wife's new bike, a steal at £150, our other three sets are still going strong after many years of use (unfortunately they are OOS on 29" though)

I have sentinel rims albeit in 26 flavour. They are in my larking about bike, and they are great - stiff, strong and pretty light.

Bought as a wheel set from SS, and the build had been great, not touched them in the 2 years I've had them...
