For my sons new Cube Acid. Don't want something as weighty as V8's and ideally not much over £20. New and black. Any recommendations ?

Very well priced and very light
Wellgo MG1. If you shop around you'll get some for £25ish, very light good platform and shape, various colours, sealed bearings.
Look on ebay and you'll find some rebranded MG-1's usually for less than £25!
MG1s are fairly thick but still, really good. If you're thinking Superstar I'd stick with the metal ones- I know some folks get on with the plastic ones but I just found them really lacking in gripwith some shoes, they ended up on my commuter.

Superstar El Plastique.
As the name suggests, they're plastic.
I've been using them for a couple of weeks now and very impressed. Not quite the grip of the Nanos that I replaced but up there.
