[#3879281]

It's only for the commute, do 105 have carriers? or just Ultegra?
.......or if anyone has anything hanging around in the garage?

Assume it's for an alu freehub body? It's much less of an issue on the road IMO. I use an HG50 on my PowerTap on the winter bike, and it's fine.

105 has the top 3 on a carrier IIRC.

105 has. See Rosebikes. They were the cheapest last time I bought some cassettes.

Yeah for a pro 2, the freehub took a bashing when used for CX with a non-carrier cassette.

I've been using it back on the road since January with a non-carrier unit but have split 2 in the past couple of months!

the metal cogs seem to come away from the plastic spacers, I can only imagine this is being done by the cogs digging into the freehub further than the wider plastic spacers, maybe? I've never split one before.

So yeah I need a cassette with a carrier to prevent this

Is Ultegra just the top 3 as well?

Ultrega's like an XT, more than the top three I think. No problems with one on a pro2 here. Metal spacers too, if that makes any difference.
