As above. Anyone any suggestions, or should I just sack it and get the Hope one?

Nukeproof 44IETS or superstar tapered T4 will do the job. Personally I'd get a hope though.

It's not tapered, but the Nukeproof one I've been using for a couple of years has been problem-free.

What is the time frame for cheapest? Seen a cheap one last 5 months before it needed replacement. Hope would work out cheaper fairly soon.

You'll save £10-15 going Nukeproof over Hope. False economy.

What they said (probably). I had a Cane Creek - 10 headset and whilst it's still spinning after 6 (fairly summery) months, turning the bearings by hand it's a bit notchy. Replaced the lower cup with a hope one, which isn't a bad economy as the cheep top one will probaly outlive even an expensive lower headset.

Never had anukeproof headset so can't really comment.

I've had a hope and a cane creek and much prefer the cane creek. You can easily upgrade the bearings on the 10 to 40 or 110 spec.

Is that based on personal experience?
As I say, I've been running the 44mm headset on my Mega for about two years. Never touched it and it still runs like brand new. 🙂
