Had a £10 Lidl under the toptube bag and it was good for longer rides from home, but I overloaded it and the zip went pop. I'm prepared to pay up to £40 unless there is something head and shoulders above for a bit more.
Alpkit have the Analoko at £40 and I know their warranty is good. Its got three options size wise (probably going 4/6l). Topeak midloader gets good reviews but I'd like a valuables pocket ideally for keys etc although it could be modified. Podsacs from On-One look OK but less confident in after sales backup.
Blackburn outpost looks good but I doubt I'd expand it so more complicated than required.
I still want to access both cages (one on the seatube, the other above the downtube) so long and short rather than a more triangular bag please.
Any other options?
I have a decathlon one that fits that description in terms of shape.
Cost was £12.
I had a look at Decathlon last night but didn't see anything suitable, perhaps discontinued.
BTR stuff is decent for the money, as it happens I have some of their bits for sale in the classifieds.
Maybe have a look at the Pod Sacs stuff on Planet X too?

Im a big fan of my lomo bag for the money.
+1 from me for the Lomo. Had loads of use, waterproof and is properly strong and well made.
Planet x I have the saddle, handlebar and small frame bags good value, tough and waterproof survived 3 overnight tours so far including the Cairngorm loop twice

Is the Planet-x/Podsac medium only 3.2 litres? Dimensions are 45x16x6 against the 48x5.5x12 4 litre Alpkit suggesting one of them is wrong..
I'd like to fit a spare layer, keys, phone in there hence wanting a bit more space.
I wasn't massively impressed by the Pod Sacs stuff from Planet-X. It's OK, but let down by the finishing. E.g. there's massive seam allowances inside the bags and no binding so it looks a bit messy. The straps are functionally OK, but ate made from the nastiest, thinnest, cheapest Velcro hook and loop you can imagine.
My frame bag is an Ibera (find them on ebay/amazon) , doesn't even pretend to be waterpoof, but has dealt with torrential rain for 12h straight with only the odd damp patch inside on a seam (more probably got in opening the zip to get stuff out.
The Lomo is a great bag but possibly the wrong shape for the op

The Topeak Midloader is good quality and around 40. I've had one for a couple of years and I tend to use it as a day bag rather than bikepacking but it's pretty indestructible.
