[#4064144]

After a split appeared in the head tube of my road frame I'm after a new one but funds are tight. I've looked at the £100-150 ones on ribble, on-one etc and am just wondering if they're totally rubbish.
I'm replacing a bottom of the range Cinelli frame and I just ride road for fitness and fun when the opportunity allows, I'm no TdF entrant.

Thanks

The £95 Ribble Winter/audax frame would be fine

I've got the MKI version of this:

very happy with it - who needs carbon fibre!

Planet x alu or something from one of the cheap european sellers like bike-discount/rose/action sports etc.

A Giant OCR/TCR off Ebay would do the trick .. though I think a new Ribble or Planet X would be worth the extra few quid for a warranty and shiney newness feeling 🙂

I've been looking for something similar myself.

Seen this for £80 ish and this for £120 ish but not much useful info on the site.

I think I might email them and ask about weights etc.

I'd recommend the Dolan Prefissio. Bought one as a winter trainer and I'm really impressed with the finish and the ride is superb for an alloy frame - it really doesn't feel uncomfortable compared to my best carbon roadframe which says a lot.

The Ribbles are rough-as-**** finish-wise and you're limited to that awful blue finish with crappy vinyl graphics (Dolan's are printed/painted).

Thanks for all the replies, there seems to be a lot out there for the part time roadie and at sensible prices.
Right now, do the kids need food this week....?

This. I really like mine, and whilst not the lightest it's a good bike!

If this is your size then it could be a bargain! Plus an extra 10% of with Fathers Day code (DAD10)
