Why so cheap? Is there a catch?

Is it worth bunging £30 on one, or even at that price are there better headsets?

And likewise, anybody got any experience of the seemingly ridiculous bargain that is the Sunline V1 Headset? Again, why so cheap, what's the catch?

I've got a sunline V1 reducer, it's a good headset. I too wasn't sure what it would be like after seeing the price and reviews.

It seems to be cheap because a couple of numpties who can't fix bikes had trouble installing them. The tolerances are very tight, and there is no expanding wedge above the top bearing. The top bearing/collar has to be pressed on with quite a lot of force. Seems a good system though, it's never come loose.

I've run RF Deus' on my 6" bike for years without a hitch. Nice quality, good bearings, and a proper compression ring (unlike CK). I got an ebay one for £23 a year or so ago for my 4" bike too.

They're cheap because they're OEM. My OEM one looked identical to my retail packed one for what its worth.

I wouldn't touch the Sunline ones, but the RaceFace has lasted well on my bike. Mine was £23 new off Ebay.

The Sunline leaves a gap between the top cover and the bearings (which according to Sunline is "meant to be there"). Shit gets in.
